Savella
Description
Savella (generic name: milnacipran; brand names include: Ixel) belongs to a group of medicines known as serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs).
Savella is used for the treatment of fibromyalgia. It may also be used in the treatment of clinical depression.
In fibromyalgia patients Savella has been proven to provide pain reduction and improved physical function.
Recommendations
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take your medicine exactly as directed.
Savella is usually taken by mouth twice daily. The usual recommended daily dose is 100 mg (as 50 mg in the morning and 50 mg in the evening).
Precautions
Tell your doctor before taking Savella, if:
you are allergic to any medicines;
you have any serious medical conditions including glaucoma;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
