Flexeril
Description
Flexeril (generic name: cyclobenzaprine; brand names include: Fexmid / Amrix) is a muscle relaxant.
Flexeril is prescribed to relieve muscle spasms and pain and is typically used in combination with rest and physical therapy.
Recommendations
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Flexeril exactly as directed.
The usual recommended dose of Flexeril is 5 mg three times a day. Based on individual patient response, the dose may be increased to 10 mg three times a day. Use of Flexeril for periods longer than two or three weeks is not recommended.
Precautions
Tell your doctor before taking Flexeril, if:
you have heart problems or glaucoma;
you are currently taking an antidepressant drug known as an MAO inhibitor;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
