Modalert

Description

Modalert is a wakefulness promoting agent.

Modalert is used to improve wakefulness in adults who experience excessive sleepiness (ES) due to one of the following diagnosed sleep disorders:

Obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS)
Shift work sleep disorder (SWSD)
Narcolepsy

In patients with OSAHS, Modalert is used only along with other medical treatments for this sleep disorder.

Recommendations

Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take your medicine exactly as directed.

The recommended dose is 200 mg taken once a day.

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose unless directed to do so by your doctor.

Precautions

Before taking Modalert, tell your doctor if:

you are allergic to any medicines;
you have a history of mental health problems;
you have heart, liver or kidney problems;
you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, or you are breast-feeding.
