Description

Amantadine (brand names include: Symmetrel / Endantadine / PMS-Amantadine / Amantrel / PK-Merz / Mantadan / Mantadix) is a medicine of the antiviral and anti-Parkinson's agents / dopamine agonists class.

Amantadine has different indications. It is used for both prophylaxis and treatment of influenza A viral infection. It was also discovered to be effective in the treatment of Parkinson's disease and drug-induced extrapyramidal syndromes.
